Wind Turbines
Worse than Healthcare

In the last blog, I murdered the spelling of Pelosi with Peloci. I also called Hamilton’s article 33, article 13. Even my computer’s spelling editor caught the misspelling of the Senator from California’s name. One has to wonder how many such errors can be found within a bill that is approximately 2,000 pages long? And what sorts of new regulations on our individual rights can such a gargantuan document place?

People are understandably upset by such intrusions. But there are much more substantive and intrusive forces about. One of them is the new Green Doctrine. The economic, political, and philosophic ramifications of this hungry beast far outweigh the disastrous effects of Obamacare. It will, in fact, ruin our great nation, literally bringing it to its metaphorical knees.

While it is true that humans have an affect on the environment, and while there are many things we must do to protect it, the environmental activists and the political “elites” are only years away from destroying the greatest nation on earth. In their insanity, they have made a commitment to the world that we will phase ourselves out of coal and oil in favor of “clean energy.” The sound of that is glorious, self sacrificing, philanthropic almost, and certainly virtuous and socially moral. Isn’t it?

I often drive cross country and have for 50 years. The landscape is changing dramatically. It is almost other worldly, reminding me of some far out sci-fi movie. Wind turbines scar the land for miles. The port where I live has stacks of gigantic propellers, large columns to support them, and I often have to pass them on the road as their population continues to grow exponentially. By the year 2030, wind, solar, and biofuel projects will consume land equivalent to Minnesota to produce the energy we now get from oil, gas, and coal. The proposal to site wind turbines off shore to replace coal, oil, and gas would require 336,000, 3.25 MegaWatt behemoths off our coasts. From where will come the tons of concrete, steel, copper, and fiberglass to install the expensive, unreliable, subsidized monsters?

Gas fired power plants putting out 555 Megawatts consume just 15 acres in California while their 13,000 wind turbines impact 106,000 acres, destroy scenic vistas, providing expensive, tax-subsidized, intermittent, insufficient electricity. Billions of federal dollars are diverted to the renewable power industry every year, yet the industry still cannot come close to producing power anywhere near as economically as conventional fuel sources such as coal and gasoline.

The list goes on, particularly the efforts to reduce carbon emissions and the war on CO2. When alternative energy fails to provide continuous, economical, and reliable power, the nation will neglect the low cost energy resulting from coal, for example, until the lights go out and all industry migrates to Asia and our power bills will soar. It will then be too late to prevent great harm to our national economy, our jobs, and our lifestyle.

Credible scientific evidence has established that CO2 from mankind has little impact on temperature and none on public health. The net result of CO2 limitations will be a transfer of wealth and the ceding of more authority to the United Nations as a global government. This will bring control, tax, and bureaucratic meddling, telling us the kind of car to drive, our destination, and our food miles accrued in our choice of food.

Global warming has been shown to be a farce, the model shown to have used an incorrect model that did not correlate the new temperatures with the old. The studies now show that 1934 was the hottest year with 1998 and 1921 being second and third respectively. Eight of the 15 hottest years in the past century occurred before carbon dioxide began its recent rise.

Russia and China are, at the same time, increasing their production of coal. Thus, efforts to cut CO2 emissions are useless.

Thirty one thousand American Scientists signed a petition drafted by the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine which stated: There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or the other green house gases is causing or will in the foreseeable future cause catastrophic heating of the Earth Atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate.

Subsidies given to develop renewable energy sources such as wind power are a license to print money for their operators at the expense of the rest of us. Companies promote green products that may be little more than gimmicks, but can be very profitable.

The United States government budgets $6 billion a year for climate research, supporting a growing industry of scientists and university labs that specialize in the subject. It all adds up to a significant institutionalization of the impulse to treat carbon as a problem. This finances jobs, grants, conferences, international travel, and academic journals. It not only keeps a huge army of people in comfortable employment, but also fills them with self righteousness and moral superiority regardless of the fact that real science did not support it.

For example, commercials abound that picture the poor polar bear’s demise. Yet, polar bears are up from 8 to 10 thousand in 1960 to 20 to 25 thousand now. Still, the polar bear has been listed as a species threatened by global warming.

Most of what has been written thus far is not the work of the author of this blog, but that of Jay Lehr, Ph.D. and Science Director of the Heartland Institute. It was written for and presented to the Ohio Legislature. I assume it can be found on the web under his name, and I urge you to read it. My obligation was to put his words in quotes, but that became burdensome as I continued to quote and paraphrase his paper, the title of which is: SIGNIFCANT EVIDENCE THAT MANKIND HAS AN INSIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON THE CLIMATE OF PLANET EARTH.

His paper brings to light the kinds of money, bureaucracy, and hedemony being thrust upon us by our leaders in just one avenue of their efforts. Combine this with Obamacare, immigration reform, stimulus and bailouts, the takeover of large segments of our private and corporate industries, the new programs to help those whose mortgages are about to fail, the transportation incentives, tax increases, and a plethora of other ills on our nation spells disaster to anyone with a shred of common sense. But when did our liberal universities ever turn out graduates with such a thread?

And now, to top it off, the government is working on a plan to install RFID chip technology into the bodies of every American. This chip will carry all medical data and … Who will resist this intrusion? Who will accept it?

All this and more from the first President who refuses to sign the certificates of new Eagle Scouts or to serve as their honorary president since the BSA’s inception in 1916, an organization that has stood for the best of American virtue.

Denial has no survival value.

A Special Forces Medic treats tuberculous patients in Southeast Asia

But it is said that the laws of the Union are to be the supreme law of the land. But what inference can be drawn from this, or what would they amount to, if they were not to be supreme? It is evident they would amount to nothing. A LAW, by the very meaning of the term, includes supremacy. It is a rule which those to whom it is prescribed are bound to observe. This results from every political association. If individuals enter into a state of society, the laws of that society must be the supreme regulator of their conduct. If a number of political societies enter into a larger political society, the laws which the latter may enact, pursuant to the powers entrusted to it by its constitution, must necessarily be supreme over those societies, and the individuals of whom they are composed. It would otherwise be a mere treaty, dependent on the good faith of the parties, and not a government, which is only another word for POLITCAL POWER AND SUPREMACY. But it will not follow from this doctrine that acts of the larger society which are not pursuant to it constitutional powers, but which are invasions of the residuary authorities of the smaller societies, will become the supreme law of the land. These will be merely acts of usurpation, and will deserve to be treated as such. Hence we perceive that the clause which declares the supremacy of the law of the Union, like the one we have just before considered, only declares a truth, which flow immediately and necessarily from the institution of a federal government. It will not, I presume, have escaped observation, that it expressly confines this supremacy to laws made pursuant to the Constitution; which I mention merely as an instance of caution in the convention; since that limitation would have been to be understood, though it had not been expressed. Publius, Article 13, Federalist Papers

USURPATION

The Federal and States Governments are the largest employers in the U.S. Pelosi has designated 111 new bureaucratic departments to run healthcare and its spinoffs. Each is estimated to require upwards of 6000 employees across the nation. That adds 666,000 new employees to the Federal Government’s roles. It will, as well, force the addition of more State’s employees.

Apart from that, a great many people are without jobs. America’s economic basis will now become incumbent on 30 percent of the rest of the nation to provide tax dollars through productive work to support the remaining 70 percent. That 30 percent will, of course, slowly begin to deteriorate. It is said that this cost will be transferred to our children and grandchildren. We know better. Our children will not be able to pay.

America will be comprised of three classes: the super rich, the impoverished, and the government. Since the government will not have the funds to continue operating, they will begin to nationalize the corporations. The super rich will relocate to escape this action and to remain alive. Some will find refuge amidst the American socialist oligarchy. The march toward total socialism will escalate.

America will no longer be the world’s superpower or the last great hope for the oppressed. The Constitution will be manipulated, overridden, and finally become mere dust in the archives of some forgotten, underground cave.

Greece will fall, once again, into ruin. The Israelis will be forced to bomb Iran, Socialist America will partner with Venezuela, Mexico will fail as a nation, Germany will once again go to war with the EU in an effort to protect their geographical vulnerability. The currency exchange will be foiled by China who will enslave us all. Russia and China will side with Iran to save their oil interests and eventually go to war over it. The tyrants in North Korea will bomb California and Alaska because they can. The Islamic fundamentalists will take advantage of world chaos.

Illegal immigrants will be provided with amnesty. Those 12 million will bring their families to the US, raising their numbers to 30 million. The ratio of the illiterate and uneducated will skyrocket. This will slowly ebb as they realize they can no longer plunder the wealth of a nation also in economic collapse, all while Obama throws worthless money at those who deserve it least.

The socialists and liberal progressives will wonder what happened. The super rich entertainers will lose their jobs and their fortunes, something that is already becoming apparent. The ridiculously overpaid athletes will scream as their fans realize food and shelter are more important than watching tattooed men kick or throw air entrained leather around.

In the midst of all this, the Tea Party movement will transform themselves into an underground organization planning revolution or giving up in defeat.

Governments will nationalize the food industry. America, the great consumer, will be forced from technology to agriculture to feed themselves.

Are these predictions as good as anyone else’s? If one reads STRATFOR and the international intelligence community’s analysis, one realizes they are not that far fetched.

If Obama can snub and insult the Prime Minister of Israel and Castro can laud the signing into law of Obamacare, how can any prediction be that far fetched?

Obamacare is taking from those that have and giving it to those who have not. Even the Senator from Montana calls this chasm “maldistribution.” Welcome to Marxism folks!

When Hamilton wrote Article 13 of the Federalist papers, did he have any inclination that Nancy Peloci, Harry Reid, and 220 of their comrades would so blatantly disregard every word?

Red Square - Moscow

All Red Cards

I have a strange addiction. I hate playing cards, but for some inexplicable reason when engineering calculations, writing, and watching the nation being destroyed puts my mind in gridlock, I double click Solitaire on my desk top. It is an effort to turn myself off for 5 minutes. I do this repeatedly. Over the years I have learned that when the cards are first dealt, I can’t tell if I am going to win, but I can tell that I am going to lose. For example, when the computer deals all red cards, it will be a losing battle.

It strikes me that our government, the Federal Reserve, and the bureaucrats have dealt us all red cards. Red. Does that strike a note?

I will again revert to Hegel and Kant, that reality is simply the construct one makes of it. Facts do not represent reality, so why not make of it what you will. While I agree that what we see, touch, feel, and hear do not represent reality but only what the mind makes of it, one should be pragmatic enough to prevent complete chaos within society. There were times when our leaders made a valiant attempt to curtail such chaos. If Obama, Pelosi, and Reid are left to their devices, that will come to an end, rather it is coming to an end. In other words, they are trying to change the US to suit their own construct. Many believe in Utopia, think it is possible, and hope for it. Many people understand that is not possible and every attempt to establish it has failed, even among the Mormons in the small town of Orderville, Utah. People are not equal in any respect with the exception of being of similar protoplasm. Thus, equality is a forced attempt against the nature of humanity. Yet, the attempt continues.

The Texas Board of Education (or some such) has inserted in our children's textbooks that we are a Republic. People are screaming about that and want it changed to read Democracy. This, I believe, is a result of two things: 1. Many people think we are a Democracy and have not the foggiest notion of a Republic, what it is, or that we are supposed to be one. 2. Taking up the banner that we are a Democracy plays into the hands of the Socialists and the New Left Revolutionary's construct. At least until people realize that Democracy, Liberalism, and Socialism are not synonymous terms.

If they can rid themselves of the concept of a Republic, we will no longer be governed by the rule of law and the Constitution but by the tyranny of their new construct for the US. We will be governed by the whims of the "elite." They can do this in part by denying funding to the states and to those who disagree with their regime, ridding the Supreme Court of Conservatives, and influencing the court’s decision making. They are no longer Community Organizers; they are States and Individual Organizers. It is apparent to them that the Constitution is simply a barrier to their construct. They want us to believe it continues to oppress the poor; depress the middle class, and benefit the wealthy. These are not an egalitarian concept. Thus, usurp them and the Constitution. But I have this notion that this is all a front. I don't believe that either Reid or Pelosi understands that. I think they are simply too stupid to really know what the end run of their efforts will be.

I think there is another construct brewing that we have not yet understood or come to grips with. There are several factors at work. Far from Democracy or the Rule of Law, it is becoming the Rule of the Minority. The religious are being replaced by the secularist, an inorganic state of flux and chaos. The Anglo majority is being replaced by the collective minority of Blacks, Middle Easterners, and Hispanics. Social norms are being replaced by the Left, Gays, Pro-Abortionists, Gun Control advocates, and etc.. Society is becoming a wasteland of discontent and disharmony. The fabric of the nation is beginning to rot and crumble. The Constitution is becoming simply a scrap of paper, and the nation may find itself at the heels of Communism.

Political Correctness paints a broad brush over any attempt to thwart them. The groundwork has been laid in our schools, an indoctrination so insidious that it is not noticed. While people labor to provide for their families, the progressives continue their assault through art, entertainment, education, and politics, adulterating our institutions as they go. Since the working man has not the time to understand the issues and what's happening, their liberty is being undermined. The police and the IRS have become authoritarians. Question them, even on a Constitutional point, and you find that such a confrontational attitude will be smacked in your face. Take it to court and your life's work will be destroyed. Thus people hide from such confrontation, or they are permissive out of a stupidity they see as good will.

A friend made the observation that: " He [Obama] is a New Left Revolutionary intent on destroying America as a representative republic and replacing it with an Orwellian worker's paradise Big Brother type utopia. His Star Chamber of Czars are a government in waiting. Obamacare, Cap and Trade, and his many other initiatives will transfer power from the Congress to the Czars, power to enforce and regulate. Power not authorized by the Constitution exercised by men not elected or confirmed by the Senate or the House. There will be no legal restraint on their actions and they will move with lightning speed to consolidate their authority and power before the ink has dried on the legislation. "

But is our government, the Obama’s, the Pelosi’s, and the Reid’s really controlling America? Is theirs the real hegemony depleting what little liberty you have left? It most certainly is not. Big time politicians come and go. But the FED and the bureaucracy not only stay but grow, controlling currency and the economy, and making laws and demands on the common citizen over which he has no control and even less knowledge of. Thousands of nonelected bureaucrats sit in their offices daily, working tirelessly to regulate, dictate, and punish the free market system and individual liberty in as many ways. The FED and Wall Street stuff their pockets with money they don’t earn. It is one thing to work hard and get rich in a free market system. It is quite another to do so by cheating the system without an ounce of productivity that enhances our economy or our integrity as a nation. The FED has locked us out of controlling them by taking us off the gold standard. And you think you are free? The Federal Register publishes 69,000 pages of regulations every year. The administration doesn’t have the time to read them, veto them, or regard them in any way. Their time is spent on TV, speeches, ridiculous committee meetings, trying to ram Obamacare, etc. down our throats, and apologizing for America’s past attempts to help the rest of the world’s oppressed.

Has anyone read the Federal Register? Could anyone understand if they did, could a team of lawyers? No damned way.

Our liberties were being bombarded, assaulted, restricted, and manipulated long before this Marxist regime took office.

Below is a couple of links you might enjoy. The first the Federal Register, the second is a great inspirational message, the third is about states making laws that do not allow the Federal ATF to interfere with their guns and ammo. Five states have passed this law, and many are following. And last, the groundswell.

Typical Tea Party Rally

The “Old White People” Movement

I was a hanger-on in the Tea Party movement. I attended meetings, and I was actually a member of the steering committee on one of them. Well … sort of. I sometimes wondered what I was doing there. I am an American warrior not an activist. But at my age, what else is there to do when I see the country abandoning what I thought we stood for?

I am an Old White Guy. At the Tea Party meetings, I saw a lot of people just like me. Most are more than fifty, sometimes much more. Most are white. Why is that? Where I live the majority is Hispanic. There are also contingents of Blacks and Asians in the community. But I don’t see them at the meetings. Of sixty people who normally attend, I will see maybe 2 Hispanics; the rest are Old White People.

I remember 1968 well. I left for Southeast Asia and the war in August of that year. The protest against the war was just beginning to pick up steam. They were a bunch of young white people and some blacks. One of their slogans was “Don’t trust anyone over 30.”

Why is it that the activists engaged in protest in 1968 were primarily young white people; yet, now, in 2010, they are primarily Old White People. Are white people, young or old, simply bellyachers? If a white man was 28 in 1968, he is now 70 in 2010. Does it follow that the protesters of 1968 are now the same protesters in 2010? Or would it be that most of the protesters of today are those who did not protest in 1968? I suspect the latter. Are their values diametrically opposed to those of the 60’s protesters? They are.

We are all Americans. Why are we not all joining in? I am white, my wife is Hispanic, my youngest daughter is part Korean, and my oldest mostly Hispanic. Thus my grandchildren are Danish, German, French, Spanish, Indian, Portuguese, and Korean. My best friend in the military was Black. We are all Americans. Why are we not all protesting the assault on America’s core values? Is it because American’s core values have changed? If that is true, why?

And why is our protest not violent (at least not yet)?

A lot of questions.

I see a distinction between those who protested in the 60’s versus those protesting now. Most of the protesters in the 60’s were young; most were in their 20’s. They were full of energy, and most of them had little to lose. Part of growing up is to leave the nest, make one’s own way, and partially rebel the ways of one’s parents. During the war, it was the thing to do. A lot of them saw through the shenanigans of the politicians of their day. A few older people were taking the beatnik path, writing political and religious poetry. It suited the idealistic side of the young. Banding together gave them an identity, an empathetic brotherhood. They formed communes, soul mate groups, cared little for productivity or money, and many embraced the ideas of Marx, Alinsky, et al and those pushing their agendas. Many lived off the streets or off wealthy parents.

The protesters of today, Old White People, see their group threatened, disappearing, and their values under assault. As I look at and talk to the protesters I find that most of them have been productive throughout their lives. They owned businesses, worked hard, and made a decent living for their families. Others worked for wages as professionals: doctors, lawyers, engineers, teachers, or they were machinists, farmers, ranchers, sales people, or laborers. But virtually all were just too busy feeding their families to be activists. Why now?

Of course some are retired and now have the time, but not all.

Is it not odd that those in the administration have never been in the military, but they run the military? Is it not odd that those in the administration have never run a business or done actual productive work in their lives, but they are trying to run businesses? And is it not odd that those in the administration have no respect for the core values of those in the military or those who run their own businesses or work hard? Is it any surprise that those in the administration are those who sympathize with the idealism of those who led the 1968 protesters or they, themselves, were such leaders?

To the average, hard working American, government intervention does not seem odd at all. They are being hit by things they don’t like: higher taxes, more government, etc. They have come to expect that from politicians. The reason it does not seem odd is because the process of changing America’s core values has been a slow, methodical process that has taken 100 years. They don’t recognize what is happening beyond the symptoms.

A change in reading of the bible in public schools here, the disdainful look at someone having spoken a politically incorrect statement there, the removal of a public faith icon over there, a mosque in the city’s center all add up to unraveling the country one thread at a time. Ah, it’s no big deal. Our REAL problem is just higher taxes, bigger government, recognizing porn under the 1st Amendment, et al. Right?

The American elephant is being eaten one insidious bite at a time. And it has been happening for 100 years if not longer. And who is bearing the brunt of this assault: Old White People. Many Asians try to stay out of the Old White People’s politics. Most of them are working too hard to engage anyway. Many Black people think their time has come. They have little interest in the problems of Old White People, and many think honkies are about to get what they deserve. Many Hispanics believe Old White People are having less children, so why bother right now. Time will give them the future. And after all, doesn’t the South belong them anyway? Just as the President of Kaddafi said, and I paraphrase, “There is no reason for these terrorists to be doing what they do. It is just a matter of time until we take over the world by shear numbers anyway.”

It is Old White People that have the most to lose. They feel it in their gut if they do not recognize it intellectually.

But Old White People, young white people, Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians need to recognize what the end run of this handover of America entails.

Many of the protesters of the ‘60’s are the socialists of today. They fill the universities, the federal government, and many of our institutions. Their agenda is to reinvent America, making it into a socialist run state and the forbearer of communism. To the idealist, the young, and those indoctrinated by public schools, it all seems so logical and virtuous: “Workers of the world unit.” Everyone will be on a level playing field; all will participate in the wealth of the nation.

Poppycock.

Can you name a country that succeeded under a communist regime? Those who tried did it on the backs of millions murdered to institute their agendas. Mao, Stalin, Marx, Pol Pot, Castro, the list goes on. They are all the same. It does not work and never will. In fact, some American extremists are proposing just that and more. Their agenda is simply to rid the country of insurance companies, corporations, or anyone else who stands in the way of their communist agenda. Where have you heard that before?

Old White People feel it in their gut. Yet many in our so called minorities feel the need to overthrow what they believe is white supremacy. The young don’t understand history well enough to know the difference. Muslims laugh, knowing the country will fall without them throwing a single rock, while they build another mosque and wait.

If we are to be successful, we have got to make Hispanics, Blacks, and Asian Americans, as well as young Americans understand where we are headed if it is not turned around. We are not going to do that by simply electing people we believe are conservative. We can only do it by educating all Americans.

E Pluribus Unum.

Yet, today’s atmosphere seems one of “Divide and Conquer.”

But wait! Have I stated the case correctly? Is there only a protest, a movement, of Old White People going on? Are the youth doing nothing in this new crisis? Not on your life. Although theirs is a much more low key movement, it is strong, adept, and malevolent. Across the country serious socialists, communists, and far left progressives are hard at work, primarily indoctrinating our very young.

We will not put an end to this struggle without understanding its genesis. Only then can we launch an effective campaign to end it. The government is a machine, rolling along with a huge amount of torque and horsepower. Throwing a conservative or two into its cogs will not even slow it down. To the contrary, it will eat them alive. One has got to understand that we are facing a machine that has rolled away from the Constitution and the ideals of the founding fathers. If we try to fight within its context, we only fight within a machine that is grotesquely out of whack.

Without understanding the machine, we have no hope of destroying it. If we deny that, our survival is at stake.

Ethnic groups of the nation unite!
